The Connection Between Emotions and the Mind

Mid Moon-time rose is teaching me that literally all things originate in the mind. I was questioning her when it came to the experience of emotions as I am processing some rage and betrayal toward a loved one and a recent very difficult/questionably abusive client at the moment, and how that is possible, and her answer was "well if you are angry at someone, there first has to be a belief in place attached to that anger, a mental evaluation and judgement of the words and behavior that says this person did something wrong or harmful. If you are experiencing guilt there first has to be a belief that your behavior connected to the guilt was wrong or harmful. Likewise if you are experiencing joy, there is an evaluation that what you are experiencing is beautiful, positive, uplifting etc". So on and so forth. The suggestion here collectively is to honor and sit with emotions while also asking yourself:

"What do I believe to be true to feel this way"?

"What lens am I currently viewing this event/memory/situation/person/myself through"?

"Where does this belief or lens come from"?

"Is this lens truth"?

"Does this lens serve me"?

By no means is this a bypass, perhaps with this example of anger you identify this lens is indeed truth and serving absolutely necessary boundaries that may have been crossed. Or perhaps it is an illusion that is not serving and revealing underlying shadow and projection on your part that needs to be examined. In my current case I'm finding it's a mixture of both!

This reminds me that during my bleed last month an extensive post channeled through about Rose's medicine for the mind and I never got around to publishing it. Coming soon...hehe
